An interesting Moodle course

This is a very interesting screencast of a teacher's Moodle course. This is a very different approach. What do you think of the course design and secondly what do you think of the approach to learning?

Great concept for the website. this is whole online course by the look of it with no outside or NCEA assessment which means it would work for me but interesting choice of activities following Blooms process.

A pity it isn't that simple Trevor. This installation of Moodle would be the same as ours it's just the teacher has decided to treat their course like a webpage and make it more visual. Follow this link to see how it is done http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtHPUh_BaxM. On this occasion the teacher would have put a huge amount of work in and probably knows html etc (to get the rollover effects).

I do agree with Peter, it is an interesting approach to learning. I like how the teacher has provided different pathways and choices to students. There are other things I don't like (the accumulation of stars for instance).

There is no reason why our own online courses can't provide flexible pathways to students. This is difficult to do in your first year, but courses should be refined, adapted and improved each year. It should not be exactly the same course you started with three years ago.
