On each Moodle page you have a range of online activity tools you can set up and use with your learners. These range from quizzes to wikis, online chats and even a stamp collection, and lots more.
In this course we will go through many of these tools, but to get an overview you could take a look through the activity modules list available in Moodle.
Visit theTeacher documentation on the Moodle website and see to the left of the screen a list of activities you can explore further.
Getting to know Moodle will take practice, but don't think you are alone. There is a community of New Zealand teachers out there who are also using Moodle, and they have documented instructions, examples, and experiences for you to share. You too can contribute back to this community.
We recommend you explore the available online resources which will help you in the future. You can do this in a variety of ways:
Visit the Moodle in New Zealand Schools website for a vast array of examples, online forums to discuss with other New Zealand teachers, and useful tips.
Find out about MoodleMoots - small conferences of Moodle users.
Visit the Moodle website for a vast repository of teacher documentation, instructions and a global Moodle user community.
We particularly recommend the Teaching with Moodle resources in the Moodle.org website.
